Licence

There are two things here with two different answers, so they are set out separately.

The software

agi-cos is licensed under the MIT Licence. You may use it commercially, modify it, distribute it, and build proprietary things on top of it. You must keep the copyright notice and the licence text in copies of the software. It is provided without warranty of any kind.

The authoritative text is the LICENSE file in the repository, and it wins over this summary if the two ever disagree.

This website

This site is not covered by that licence. Its design, copy, layout, illustrations and source are © 2026 BrightLabs Infrasoft Solutions Private Limited, all rights reserved. It is maintained in a separate private repository for exactly this reason.

The name and the mark

“agi-cos”, the agi-cos mark and the BrightLabs name are the property of BrightLabs Infrasoft Solutions Private Limited. The MIT licence covers the code; it does not grant trademark rights.

You may, without asking:

• Say that your project uses or is built on agi-cos
• Use the name to refer to the software accurately, including in comparisons
• Reproduce the mark unmodified when writing about the project

Please do not, without written permission:

• Use the name or mark in a way that suggests we endorse or produced your product
• Use it as, or as part of, your own product or company name
• Modify the mark, or use a confusingly similar one

Your work

Everything the software produces on your machine — code, documents, artifacts, records — is yours. We have no claim to it, and no access to it: the application runs on your infrastructure and sends nothing to us.

Third-party components

agi-cos depends on other open-source software, each under its own licence, and calls model providers under whatever terms you have agreed with them. Your use of a provider is between you and that provider; this licence does not modify those terms and cannot.
